These are all obviously updates to the earlier non-S versions. The Incredible S will be a 4-inch 800 x 480 device (up from the Incredible's 3.7-inches). It will carry Android 2.2. Interestingly, the labels for the capacitive buttons at the bottom (in portrait mode), but rotate as the device rotates, a small but nice addition to the feature set.
The Incredible S comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255, 768MB of RAM, a 720p HD video-capable 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1450mAh battery.
The Desire S will sport unibody aluminum construction, the same 1GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, dual front (1.3 megapixel) and back (5 megapixel) cameras and a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 display. Although not mentioned in the press release, Engadget says the device will carry Android 2.4 or Gingerbread (which is still rumored to be either 2.3 or 2.4).
The Wildfire S is HTC's new low-end offering. It has a 3.2-inch screen, and raises its resolution from QVGA to HVGA from the Wildfire. Once again Gingerbread will be preloaded, which brings up the question of why the middle and low end have Gingerbread while the Incredible S does not.
