Google Search now allows hiding results from user-selected domain names

Have you ever performed a Google Search, then clicked on a link only realize it was a spam, perhaps even malware-filled site? With a new feature Google rolled out on March 9, you can now block certain domain names from your search results.

Unfortunately, you still need to make that initial click to the domain name, but once that's done, if you return to the search results, you'll see a link that says "block all domainname search results."

Once you click the link to “Block all domainname results” you’ll get a confirmation message, as well and the option to undo your choice. The domains you block are connected with your Google Account, so this is just another reason for users to remained signed-in to Google, we see.

Naturally, you'll also be able to go in and manage your blocks, if you change your mind. In fact, if you make a search and items were blocked because of your settings, you'll get a message telling some results have been blocked, with links to manage your blocks. The message may appear at the top or bottom of the page, Google said, "depending on the relevance of the blocked pages."

This is a great idea for giving people more control over their search results. Try it and let us know what you think.
